Important Notice: Due to a national shortage on utility-grade distribution transformers, the Independence Power & Light Department (IPL) is not able to accommodate any projects that require a new transformer at this time and will not be able to until further notice. We do not have any timeframe of when to expect deliveries of transformers as suppliers are unable to provide a date of when to expect deliveries to re-start. We are working with state and national organizations to arrive at a solution to this problem as soon as possible. Should anything change, we will provide notice of those changes as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience as this issue is affecting electrical utilities nationwide.

  5. If a subcontractor is hired by the owner, the subcontractor will be directed by the owner to obtain necessary permits and licenses as required by the Municipal Code of Independence, Mo.
